While council venues might be temporarily closed to help keep people safe during the pandemic, online activities are being put together by the Cultural Services teams from Oystermouth Castle, Swansea Museum, libraries, Sport & Health, West Glamorgan Archives, Dylan Thomas Centre and the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery.

The  Enjoy team is also staging a virtual, half-term treasure hunt headed by their mascot Jo Joio who will be heading off on a virtual mission around Swansea's cultural venues and services to discover a mystery word by the end of the week.

Youngsters can join in by following Enjoy Swansea on their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages where every day there'll be a clue and activity to complete to help Jo complete her mission.

Once Jo's followers have found the letters they'll need to unscramble the word and let Jo and the Enjoy team know by tagging her in pictures and completed activities on the Enjoy Swansea social media channels.

Prizes are on offer for the top treasure hunters thanks to WH Smith's flagship Quadrant store in Swansea. They've donated a set of the latest David Walliams hard back books, whilst the National Literacy Trust has also donated a set of six reading books and activity packs.

Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for investment, regeneration and tourism, said: "This is probably the most unusual half-term holiday that any of us can remember.

"It is a great shame that the many thousands of visitors we normally welcome will not be able to enjoy all the brilliant attractions usually on offer. However, we need to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

"We'll be here for the people of Swansea and ready to welcome visitors later. In the meantime there will be lots of things to enjoy thanks to the activities that our cultural services teams have created online."
