Translation Required: Coronavirus training for independent and voluntary care sector providers

Translation Required: Swansea Council's Offer to Support Induction for new recruits in the independent and voluntary care sector during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Translation Required:

Swansea Council's Staff Development and Training Unit (SDTU) has made temporary changes in the way that we offer training to the sector.  All Face-to-face training has been postponed for the time being, but we continuesto be available to offer support and advice to you in the weeks ahead.

We know that you are all working extremely hard to continue to deliver vital services. To support your recruitment and induction processes  we have provided three different sets of material to support your basic awareness training.

These are

Developing an Induction Framework

The statutory guidance for Service Regulations 36 states service providers ensure they have an induction programme that equips all new staff to be confident in their roles and practice and enables them to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of individuals using the service.

All employers have a responsibility to make sure their new workers receive a suitable induction.

COVID response and The All Wales induction framework for health and social care

Swansea has developed interim arrangements for our own staff which you are welcome to access.

We deliver our induction through  E-learning training that has been developed to meet induction needs during the Covid-19 period.

On completion of this training the new recruits will need to be mentored by an experienced worker to ensure that they are safe and fit to practise.

The E-Learning training has been developed to meet the basics of this  framework and will help you and the responsible individuals show that workers are completing a robust, structured induction to make sure that regulatory requirement and contracting monitoring are met, especially in the current COVID situation.

The induction framework has been designed and developed so it can be used by all care and support workers in social care settings
